Summary of Role & Key Responsibilities
The main responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
Client centricity
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing clients and stakeholders whilst capitalizing on opportunities to acquire new clients, thus driving revenue generation through proactive business development.
- Ensure client satisfaction by investing time in understanding client needs and supporting and monitoring the delivery of high-quality services which optimally address those needs.
- Conducting thorough research to understand the regional market's needs, preferences, and competition, enabling informed decision-making.
- Continuously improving service offerings based on client feedback and market insights.
- Proactively seeking ways to enhance the client experience, innovate new solutions, and stay ahead of evolving client needs and preferences.
- Collaborate with the Global Community Leads, Activator Guides and Marketing teams to generate leads, acquire new clients, and expand market share.
- Empowering our teams with the authority, resources, and training needed to effectively address client needs and deliver exceptional service.
- Represent Anthesis in the Region by presenting at relevant industry conferences, demonstrating thought leadership through writing and publishing blogs, white papers and reports and proactively create opportunities to raise the profile of Anthesis more broadly and strengthen brand visibility.
- Identify market trends in the region and ensure that the service offerings are developed and refined accordingly to meet the needs of our clients.
Financial Performance
- Collaborate with the NALA Regional Business Line Leaders and the Regional Finance Business Partner on financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for the region.
- Work with the NALA Regional Business Line Leaders to deliver, at a minimum, the annual business plan for the business lines in the NALA region, guiding the growth and expansion of service offerings to meet or exceed key growth targets for client and sector engagements.
- Monitor and manage the financial performance to achieve revenue growth and both project profitability and team chargeability targets.
- Prepare and present reports on key performance indicators and other relevant metrics.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, legal requirements, and company policies.
Regional Growth
- Responsible for developing a regional strategy for growth across all four communities, working closely with the Chief Community Leads, Global Business Line Leaders and Regional Business Line Leaders.
- Collaborate with Community leads and their NALA Leaders to develop and execute plans for scaling the business within the region.
- Adapting service offerings to align with regional preferences, regulations, and cultural nuances, enhancing their appeal and relevance to the NALA market.
- Explore opportunities for expansion into adjacent markets or the introduction of new service offerings in collaboration with Community leads and the Corporate Development Lead.
- Support and drive the attraction of key talent to the region.
- Build a regional team with the ability to collaborate on projects across the NALA region and around the globe, in all the geographies in which Anthesis operates.
- Support with strategic recruitment for the region, including ensuring there is a robust succession plan in place for all key positions in the region, working in conjunction with the NALA Operations Leaders, People & Development and Finance as part of the succession planning process.
- Drive employee engagement in NA by initiating and managing activities designed to build and strengthen a sense of community, alignment and belonging.
- Encourage a culture of innovation and creativity within the regional team.
- Act as a custodian and facilitator of the Anthesis Spirit across the Region ensuring that the values and behaviours of Anthesis are consistently prevalent.
Regional Management
- Lead NA regional leadership team meetings, and monthly town halls.
- Work with the Marketing team (regional and global) to network and build relationships in the North American region.
- Communicate regularly with SLT opportunities.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks to the business, including legal, financial, and operational risks.
- Work closely with legal and compliance teams to address any regulatory requirements.

Ideal Experience and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in building and managing high performing teams and growing a business.

- An in-depth knowledge of the NA market for sustainability services acquired through substantial industry experience with the region.
- A genuine concern for the well-being of our people, and experience of leading initiatives which enhance engagement and employee experience.
- Minimum 15 years’ postgraduate experience, preferably in a professional services firm.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree or certifications are a plus.
- A network of contacts and connections at the intersection of business, environment, and human rights fields, including NGOs/CSOs, multilateral institutions, peer consultancies, industry experts, and more.
- Subject matter expertise/direct experience in sustainability.
- Demonstrated track record in working with C-Suite and senior executives in a client/customer-facing position. Well-developed interpersonal skills for high-level interaction with clients and partners
