Required and responsibility
- Must be bilingual in Spanish.
- Also, the candidate must have IADC, and IWCF Teacher certification, or the ability to obtain the teacher certification within the first 60 days.
- Well Control Instructor A well control instructor teaches accredited IADC and IWCF well control courses and other related technical classes.
- As a well-controlled instructor, include ensuring all work meets industry standards, updating training records, collaborating with associated organizations, meeting deadlines, and providing support to students.
- Your duties include developing training courses, creating appropriate material, scheduling courses to meet operational requirements, assisting with program simulators and well models, and maintaining all systems and equipment.
- A well control instructor's goal is to teach drilling, oil, and gas information and prepare students to obtain professional certification.
- Qualifications to Become a Well Control Instructor To become a well control instructor, you typically need a bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering, a related field, or technical training through a vocational school.
- You must also be a certified well-control instructor.
- You can obtain certification by attending required classes and passing exams through the IADC and IWCF.
- Employers prefer candidates with extensive experience in drilling and familiarity with the oil and gas field.
- Other qualifications include strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, as well as prior experience with teaching or instruction, the ability to work with a diverse group of students and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Job Description
- Under broad direction, develops and delivers complex technical training and educational programs such as multi-discipline technical training, complex technical course development, advanced technical on-the-job training for external customers and internal employees, direct product sales training, or business development curriculum.
- Collaborates with internal clients to assess, develop, and implement training and development solutions to help Product Service lines achieve specific business objectives and solutions.
- Mentors less experienced instructors.
- Job roles contribute to the viability of the organization via personal contributions.
- Skills are typically acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree in engineering, education, or similar disciplines and 8-10 years of experience in Human Resource Development or Product Service Line operations including curriculum development or training experience.
- Subject matter expertise in Product Service Line technical knowledge, skills and experience necessary for this role.
- Travel is a requirement.
