ESG Business Development Leader

As global ESG requirements become more rigorous and mandate additional elements such as target setting, risk assessments, detailed implementation plans, and performance monitoring, the demand for ADEC’s services is growing.
The Business Development Leader role is an evergreen position, meaning we are always looking for talented individuals to join our team. The ESG Business Development Leader will be a member of the ADEC ESG team’s senior leadership team and will be responsible for organizing key sales and business development processes, cultivating clients, and empowering the ESG team and key leaders across ADEC to support these activities. This is an opportunity to take charge and own this space for ADEC ESG with high upside potential for a motivated individual.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Attain significant revenue, customer, and transaction growth in sustainability and ESG markets
- Exceptional execution of assigned sales activities with professionalism and industry expectations
- Conduct high-activity sales outreach
- Establish, strengthen, and manage new and existing customer relationships
- Understand and assess customer business objectives and requirements
- Demonstrate proficiency in products, solutions, and competitive offerings in the ESG and sustainability spaces
- Integrate products and solutions within customer’s business processes
- Create systems and processes to organize ADEC ESG sales efforts
- Explain the business development process to train/mentor the ESG team to provide sales support
Qualifications
- Ability to fulfill the above duties and responsibilities
- Effective communicator, both receiving and delivering detailed verbal and written information
- Exceptional ability to present information in one-on-one and small-group situations
Education and /or Experience
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency in Sustainability or ESG projects
- Educational background in Sustainability, ESG, Science or Business-related fields, or relevant work experience in Sustainability or ESG fields. Specific degrees or concentrations in Sustainability or ESG are strongly preferred.
- Consistent and progressive levels of increased responsibility in related experience
- Created significant growth of market and transactional fees in past roles
- Networking at events, tradeshows, speaking engagements
- Client relationship cultivation and management
- Strong network of current or past clients and partnerships that would be relevant to ADEC
Work Environment:

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will spend extended periods of time in front of a computer and/or laptop. The employee is required to have hand/finger dexterity. This role will regularly require talking and listen will be expected to spend extensive time speaking with clients, staff, and vendors through phone and online programs. Specific vision abilities this job requires include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Salary Range:
$130,000 - $150,000
Compensation is experience-dependent. If sales targets are reached, salary plus commissions and bonuses can reach a total of $250,000 in Compensation.
