Environmental Senior Analyst

Acento is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Senior Sustainability Analyst to join our team and lead our efforts in minimizing environmental impact across our real estate assets.
About the Role:
As the Senior Sustainability Analyst, you will play a crucial role in advancing our environmental sustainability initiatives. Reporting to the Vice President of Sustainability and Impact, you will work on a hybrid basis from our corporate office in Bethesda, MD. Your expertise will help drive energy and water efficiency programs, waste reduction strategies, and renewable energy projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial and Operational Structuring:
- Develop financial models and operational frameworks for environmental initiatives.
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses to evaluate project feasibility and ROI.
- Collaborate with finance, operations, and property teams for resource allocation.
2. Contractor and Supplier Management:
- Identify and select qualified contractors and suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms.
- Oversee contractor performance and ensure compliance with project requirements.
3. Initiative Oversight and Implementation:
- Develop detailed project plans and timelines.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and stakeholders for seamless project execution.
- Monitor project progress and track key metrics for effectiveness.
4. Reporting and Regulatory and Risk Compliance:
- Organize all reporting requirements, including BEPS, Fannie Mae, and local benchmarking compliance.
- Conduct audits and assessments to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Assist with internal and external environmental data reporting under frameworks like GRESB, CDP, GRI, SASB, and TCFD.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 2-4 years of experience in implementing environmental sustainability initiatives, preferably in real estate.
- Strong financial acumen and project management skills.
- Familiarity with environmental management and utility bill pay automation software.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical mindset with a commitment to sustainability.
