As an innovation leader, we look for ambitious, forward-thinking, open-minded, and well-rounded individuals to join our global team. Located in our Denver office, Gates is seeking a Corporate & Americas Sustainability Manager to join our Global Marketing and Strategy team.


The right candidate will possess deep project management experience and strong communication skills, an understanding of key trends and issues in ESG and corporate sustainability, a commitment to advancing sustainability strategy in alignment with core business strategy and data management skills.


  • This position will engage cross-functionally within HQ and within the Americas regional operation to advance multiple aspects of our environmental and ESG work in collaboration with members of Legal, Finance, HR and Operations teams.
  • In this role s/he will collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to support implementation and adoption of Gates sustainability programs.
  • This new role reports to the Director of Sustainability and will be responsible for supporting Gates Corporate sustainability strategy and the Americas region.


Key Responsibilities

Strategy and Execution:

  • Support implementation of Gates global ESG/Sustainability strategy and roadmap for the Americas region.
  • Identify opportunities to promote and enhance sustainable practices.
  • Project management to follow through on compliance with regulatory requirements that impact Gates including CBAM, CMRT, CSRD and TCFD, and others.


Communications And Reporting

  • Responsible for tracking and timely completion of annual submissions for third party rankings including ISS, FTSE, CDP, and others.
  • Collaborate with and support Americas regional teams in responding to surveys and pre-qualification requests from retailers, suppliers, and other key stakeholders.


Engagement And Collaboration

  • Support the creation of internal content to increase collaboration and participation in support of Gates' global Sustainability initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, EHS, Supply Chain Management, Engineering R&D, Human Resources, and other key internal stakeholders to operationalize Sustainability initiatives with a focus on the Americas.


About You

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's or post-graduate degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years' experience with ESG/Sustainability, with demonstrated success managing sustainability programs.
  • Strong business acumen and familiarity with ESG goal setting, disclosures, best-in-class sustainability practices.
  • Demonstrated success in ESG KPI measurement, tracking, reporting.
  • Knowledge/experience in appropriate reporting frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, DJSI, TCFD), and/or investor-preferred evaluations such as Sustainalytics, MSCI).
  • Experience creating successful partnerships with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated success with cohesive analysis and assessment of impact using both key quantitative and qualitative data points.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter, results-oriented, with a can-do attitude; ability to educate/promote understanding, generate results in an emerging capability with limited resources.

Pay & Benefits

  • Full-Time: $90,000 - $110,000
  • Medical, Dental, Vision insurance and other voluntary benefit options: benefits begin on the first day of the month immediately following your date of hire
  • Eligible for 3weeks of paid vacation + 11 holidays (9 scheduled & 2 floating) + 8 sick days. All vacation days are accrued
  • 401(k): 3% company contribution and additional 3% company match
