Our position at the nexus of the capital markets and as a long-time trusted partner for both investors and corporates across the world provides a unique perspective and ability to empower corporates to contribute to a more sustainable planet and communities for tomorrow. As a result, we’re growing our climate solution team to advance our client’s need for best-in-class advisory and carbon accounting software support. This Carbon Consultant role will work directly with companies on a variety of strategic climate initiatives and support them through their climate journey.


  • Conduct comprehensive carbon footprint assessments, including scope 1, 2 & 3 for a diverse range of customers
  • Support the development and implementation of carbon reduction strategies tailored to customers specific needs and industry requirements, inclusive of setting science-based targets..
  • Conduct and lead research in both quantitative & qualitative formats, including the timely synthesis of complex data into meaningful insights
  • Manage multiple projects independently with minimal supervision to meet tight deadlines
  • Define conversion methodologies and emission factors based off industry best practice and regulatory requirements
  • Support the development of process documentation and provide recommendations on appropriate emission calculation factors, calculation methodologies and estimation methodologies
  • Play a leading role in project managing carbon accounting projects within Nasdaq’s ESG Solutions business
  • Provide training and support for Nasdaq Metrio’s carbon accounting tool
  • Fuel client success through successful implementation of Nasdaq Metrio’s carbon accounting tool
  • Integrate climate expertise and customer feedback into communication channels with sales, customer success, engineering and advisory teams.
  • Assist in the development of new carbon accounting product features
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in carbon accounting, sustainability consulting or a related field
  • Proficiency in carbon accounting software and data analysis tools
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to stay on track and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated experience developing scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions inventories, with demonstrated experience in key topic areas, including setting inventory boundaries, accounting for renewable energy, and accounting for supply chain emissions using multiple approaches (EEIO, LCA, supplier-specific data)
  • Experience building productive and collaborative relationships with team members
  • Familiarity with carbon accounting and reporting standards and programs (e.g., ISO 14064, GHG Protocol, TCR)


Preferred Qualifications

  • Sound understanding of Life Cycle Assessments and Product Carbon Footprints
  • Experience with third-party audits of inventories, and with auditors/assurance providers
  • 4+ years’ experience in corporate GHG emissions accounting across multiple sectors, acquired either in-house or in a consultancy environment
  • Experience developing Science Based Targets and decarbonization strategies
  • Leadership potential and experience mentoring junior staff
